Dakota Mallard (born January 21) is a camper at Camp Trinkets, where they reside in the Rubber Duck Cabin. Also known by the nicknames “Duck” and “Splash,” Dakota is recognized for their eager and bubbly personality. Dakota uses a variety of pronouns such as, They/Them, It/It’s, and Pud/Puddle. It is the owner of two bubble fish named Larry and Bob. Dakota is known to have a wide circle of friends and engages in a variety of hobbies during their time at camp. As well as working at McDucknald’s in Bubble Land, pud has learned to balance the best of both worlds.

Dakota Mallard has many head-turning features - tanned skin, curly, sun-bleached hair, and a smattering of freckles to go with it from hours spent outdoors. Despite their sunny demeanor, it has a deep love for the rain, water, and puddles, exemplified by the yellow duck raincoat they wear - complete with duck wing sleeves - along with puds lemon patterned rain boots (which, of course, are only worn when absolutely necessary). Despite standing at 5 feet, 1 inch, Dakota's larger than life personality - and puds quite impressive swimmer's build - makes up for it in leaps and bounds. In terms of more unnatural features, Dakota Mallard is the proud owner of a duck tail and webbed toes.
Dakota Mallard is known for being talkative and often interrupts conversations, a trait they are actively working to improve. Others have described their thought process as fast-paced, which can sometimes result in speaking impulsively. It also experiences difficulty with volume control, tending to speak either too loudly or too softly, with limited control in between. They are noted for their honesty, often expressing themselves in a direct but caring manner. Clumsiness is another characteristic frequently associated with pud, who is often seen wearing multiple Band-Aids, sometimes without recalling the cause of the injuries. Despite this, they are described as active, creative, and bubbly, with a strong interest in swimming and crafting. Dakota has also expressed tendencies toward self-criticism and social anxiety, often worrying that others may perceive them as unusual or merely tolerant of their presence.
Dakota Mallard is known for a diverse range of personal interests. These include an appreciation for the color yellow and a fondness for both sunny and rainy weather. Dakota has expressed enjoyment of nature, especially sunsets and wildlife, as well as outdoor activities like nature walks and spending time outside in general. Other interests include lemons, bubble wands, and balloon animals. Dakota also has a notable interest in various forms of media. This includes a preference for physical arts such as CDs and other tangible media, along with a nostalgic interest in children's books, television shows, and films. Especially, programs include Bubble Guppies and Bluey. Dakota is often found on Tumblr and the casual video game Ducklings.
Dakota Mallard has expressed a number of personal dislikes, which include strong smells, loud noises, and the texture of sand. Dakota is also known to be against asking for help. In terms of clothing preferences, they have stated a dislike for pants and shoes that need to be tied, favoring instead shorts and shoes with Velcro. Despite puddle’s love for socializing with friends they strongly dislike crowds.
Having such a bright personality as Dakota Mallard tends to come with a plethora of interests and fandoms ranging from movies to television to musicals. Some of the fandoms are for various animated works like How To Train Your Dragon, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Finding Nemo, Ducktales, My Little Pony, and the anime Duck Kun Saves The World. Dakota also greatly enjoys Broadway, having many favorites (listed below) and finding new ones to enjoy all the time. Other film and television they love include the BBC's Merlin and Dead Poets Society.
As previously mentioned, Dakota Mallard is quite a big Broadway fan, some favorites being SpongeBob: The Musical, Dogman: The Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, and Spring Awakening. Pud likes many songs and kinds of music, but some notable favorites include The Duck Song, Cats (The Living Tombstone), Chicken Nugget Dreamland (Parry Gripp), and Dinosaurs Go Rawr (Remix); it's also quite a fan of sea shanties and works by GoNoodle. While Dakota enjoys childhood books such as Pete The Cat: Five Little Ducklings, they also enjoy Stephen King and James Patterson books in puds free time. Some of their most favorite things include various trinkets - buttons, stamps, coins, small duck and baby figures, bottle caps - as well as preserved flowers. Its favorite colors are blue and yellow, and puds favorite dinosaur is the triceratops.
Having such a bright and sunny disposition still comes with its less than favorable aspects, as seen in fears and phobias held by our very own Dakota Mallard. Their phobias include things like claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces), trypanophobia (fear of needles), catagelophobia (fear of being ridiculed), iatrophobia (fear of doctors), and anatidaephobia, the fear of geese. Other fears include failure, public speaking, the world ending, and pud is a slight germaphobe when it comes to people and public spaces.
Dakota Mallard is frequently found near water and is particularly fond of swimming, one of their favorite camp activities. They are also known for maintaining an extensive collection of rubber ducks and small trinkets, accumulated over time. Pud has a strong interest in arts and crafts and is regularly engaged in creative projects. In addition, they have developed an enjoyment of soap making, which they incorporate into their personal bath time routines.
Dakota was minding its business one day, sitting at home enjoying their favorite series about anime ducks in suits, when a mysterious, swirling portal opened in front of them. As pud was sucked into the vortex, a trans(🏳️⚧️)formation happened! Suddenly, its wings became arms and their usually waddling feet into still webbed, but human feet! The rest of their body went through a similar transformation. Duck had become a human?! They ended up dropped off in a shallow stream with a (very stylish) raincoat get-up and some rain boots. The trip ended up being water off a duck’s back, as they easily adjusted to life in this new dimension and found some friends along the way. However… every once in a while, the portal would come back at a usually inconvenient time, and whisk it off to bubble land again for short periods of time. Luckily, though, it seems that it isn’t taking pud anywhere else unfamiliar.
